This high-impact program requires expertise in application sustainment, cybersecurity, systems administration, help desk support, and database management. Team members will help modernize and sustain critical applications like VIM, IRM, and VIM-ASAP, contributing to the secure and efficient operation of a globally distributed logistics system. If you're ready to support national defense logistics while applying your skills in a dynamic and collaborative environment, we want to hear from you.Responsibilities:The Database Administrator will provide all activities related to the administration of computerized databases. Projects long-range requirements for database administration and design in conjunction with other managers in the information systems function.Designs, creates, and maintains databases in a client/server environment. Conducts quality control and auditing of databases in a client/server environment to ensure accurate and appropriate use of data. Advises users on access to various client/server databases. Designs, implements, and maintains complex databases with respect to JCL, access methods, access time, device allocation, validation checks, organization, protection and security, documentation, and statistical methods. Applies knowledge and experience with database technologies, development methodologies, and front-end /back-end programming languages (e.g., SQL). Performs database programming and supports systems design. Includes maintenance of database dictionaries, overall monitoring of standards and procedures, file design and storage, and integration of systems through database design.Required Experience in years:Five (5) years progressive experience of database query languages such as Oracle, PL SQL, SQL Server, and MS Access. At least three (3) years hands-on experience and expertise in Relational Database Management Systems. Experience also shall include capability to work on various operating systems and additional programming languages. Experience in at least two projects in a large organization responsible for administering, operating, maintaining, and securing a large-scale computer databasePreferred Experience:Candidates with prior experience supporting the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) or other Department of Defense (DoD) logistics operations are strongly preferred. Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience with one or more of the following systems: Virtual Item Manager (VIM), VIM-ASAP, Integrated Retail Module (IRM), and the Asset and Visibility System (AAVS). Familiarity with the end-to-end supply chain processes, inventory management, requisition processing, and vendor integration functions supported by these applications is highly desirable. Experience working within DLA’s Enterprise Business Systems (EBS) environment and a strong understanding of military clothing distribution workflows, MILSTRIP/MILSTRAP transactions, and RFID-enabled logistics solutions will be considered a significant asset.
