This role involves assisting in planning and implementing educational activities, developing individualized plans, and ensuring the smooth operation of classroom activities. The Teacher Assistant may also assume the teacher's responsibilities in their absence and is responsible for maintaining accurate records and reports.Duties and Responsibilities:Work with teaching team in all activities, including but not limited to housekeeping, diapering, toilet training and meal service and record keepingShare responsibility in the preparation of Daily Plans and the preparation of teaching materialsConduct daily small-group activities for an assigned group of children, sharing responsibility for large-group activities and using appropriate adult/child interactions strategies with all childrenAssume responsibility for a classroom at any given timeCollects required anecdotes and information for required ongoing assessmentsObserve and/or participate in parent-teacher conferencesProvide coverage for breaks for other staff membersSupervise daily lunch and playground activities, field trips and walksPromote individualized attention for children by freeing teachers from routine dutiesInteractions expressive of genuine warmth and concern for children as well as an understanding of their developmental needsRespect for children's ideas, feelings, abilities and differencesInsights into and tolerance for the range of age-appropriate behaviorAbility to assume needed duties and responsibilities without supervisionAbility to use discretion in communications with parents in the Teacher 's absenceAbility to move and react quickly and to handle emergencies effectivelyAbility to abide by all rules and regulations applicable to workers of the centerAbility to accept changes in schedules, environment, etc...Acquire knowledge of the current curriculum and implement the curriculum practices in the classroomRequired Skills & Abilities:• Childcare Experience• Patience and Compassion• Effective Communication• Teamwork, Creativity• Organizational Skills• Adaptability• Safety Awareness• Problem-Solving Skills• CDA preferred• First Aid/CPR Certification preferredEducation & Experience:• High school or equivalent (Required)Child Development Associate Certification (Preferred)Classroom management: 1 year (Required)Professional Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)Physical Requirements:Sitting, bending, standing, lifting up to 30+ pounds, cleaning for extended periods of timeBenefits for Staffing Members:• Weekly paychecks.• An assigned Talent Acquisition Specialist throughout your career as an Alignstaffing employee.• Opportunity for specialists to expand their portfolio through work in new focus areas.• Networking with likeminded colleagues and mentors.• Industry specific or cross-industry experience.• Training into a specific role, even while in school.• Shift Work Opportunities.
