Small Engine Mechanic

Small Engine Mechanic, Full-Time Location: West Point Lake Project, West Point, GA EAST O&M, LLC is currently seeking a Small Engine Mechanic for the Operations and Maintenance of Government Owned Facilities and Equipment at the West Point Lake project. Location is a recreational site that includes boating, fishing, swimming, camping, and hiking. Primary Responsibilities: The Small Engine Mechanic repairs fractional-horsepower gasoline engines used to power lawnmowers, garden tractors, and similar machines, using hand tools, locates causes of trouble, dismantles engines, using hand tools, and examines parts for defects, replaces or repairs parts, such as rings and bearings, cleans and adjusts carburetor and magneto, starts repaired engines and listens to sounds to test performance. The Mechanic also need to complete repairs, rebuilds, or overhauls major and minor assemblies of internal combustion and diesel automobiles, trucks, tractors, heavy equipment, and other equipment including mowers, small engines, pumps, trailers, and tractor implements. Work involves most of the following: Preventative maintenance on equipment; diagnosing and determining the extent of repairs required; replacing worn or broken mechanical parts or electrical parts; rebuilding components; repairing pumps; replacing fuel injectors or ignition systems; and other repairs to equipment. Maintain records and reports of fuel, equipment usage, inventory of parts, and repair cost. Position requires the ability to work independently and directly with other employees in order to maintain a pristine appearance of all grounds and public use facilities while providing a safe environment for employees and visitors. Requirements: · Minimum of 5 years of related small engine and vehicle maintenance experience · Knowledge of safe operation and maintenance requirements of industrial grounds equipment, such as mowers and tractors. · Must be able to pass a background investigation. · Must obtain CPR and HAZWOPER certificates and attend annual refresher training · Must possess a valid driver's license, CDL is preferred · Must be able to work in extreme temperatures · Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English language · Must have computer skills to include excel, word, etc. COMPENSATION: We offer competitive pay and benefits. Hourly wage will be $19.18 plus Health and Welfare of $4.93 as a full time Small Engine Mechanic.
