Timekeeping Specialist
Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Timekeeping Specialist to support payroll operations in Missouri. This contract opportunity with potential for a permanent role is ideal for someone who can manage high-volume time and attendance records, help ensure accurate pay processing, and work confidently across multi-state payroll environments. The person in this role will partner with payroll and internal stakeholders to keep employee time data complete, approved, and ready for timely payroll cycles.Responsibilities:- Review, validate, and maintain employee time records to support accurate payroll processing for a large workforce.- Coordinate with managers and employees to resolve missing punches, exceptions, and unapproved timesheets before payroll deadlines.- Support bi-monthly payroll activities by preparing timekeeping data and confirming hours are properly coded and approved.- Monitor payroll-related transactions across multiple states to help maintain compliance with applicable pay practices and deadlines.- Use timekeeping and payroll platforms, including UKG Ready and Banner, to research discrepancies and update records as needed.- Reconcile time and attendance information against payroll reports to identify and correct inconsistencies before final processing.- Assist with full-cycle payroll support by providing accurate time data and responding to payroll inquiries from internal teams.- Contribute to payroll system-related process updates or workflow changes as assigned, ensuring timekeeping records remain accurate during operational adjustments. Requirements - Experience supporting payroll operations, including processing or preparing payroll data for large employee populations.- Hands-on knowledge of timekeeping systems and the ability to manage approved timesheets with accuracy and efficiency.- Familiarity with payroll practices in multi-state environments and an understanding of high-volume payroll workflows.- Experience working with UKG Ready, Banner, or comparable payroll and time administration platforms.- Ability to support bi-monthly payroll schedules while meeting strict deadlines and maintaining strong attention to detail.- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate discrepancies and communicate resolutions clearly.- Working knowledge of full-cycle payroll processes and how timekeeping accuracy affects employee pay.Robert Half is the world's first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
