Modeling & Simulation Advanced Optical Physicist The Opportunity: We are seeking a highly skilled Advanced Optical Physicist with strong expertise in modeling and simulation (M&S) to support development, analysis, and evaluation of complex optical and electro-optical systems. The ideal candidate will combine deep theoretical physics knowledge with practical experience in computational modeling environments to help shape next-generation sensing, imaging, and phenomenology-driven simulation capabilities. How You'll Contribute: Develop, validate, and optimize physics-based and phenomenology-based optical models, including radiometry, imaging systems, laser propagation, and optical signatures. Perform end-to-end modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) of EO/IR sensor performance under varying environmental, atmospheric, and operational conditions. Lead or contribute to verification and validation (V&V) of modeling tools against empirical datasets. Collaborate with systems engineers, software developers, and analysts on integrated simulation frameworks. Support test planning, algorithm development, data analysis, and model-based requirements definition. Document technical findings and present results to internal teams and customers. You Have: 3+ years of experience in optical modeling and simulation Experience with optical simulation tools such as MODTRAN Ability to validate complex physics-based models Secret clearance Master's degree in Optical Physics, Physics, Applied Physics, or Electrical Engineering Nice If You Have: Experience with tools such as AFSIM, SOSM, or custom optical simulation codes Experience with GPU-accelerated modeling, C++, CUDA, or real-time simulation pipelines Experience with remote sensing, target signature modeling, hyperspectral imaging, IR imaging, or optical system design Experience integrating models into multi-domain or system-of-systems simulations Possession of excellent written and verbal communication skills Possession of excellent analytical skills Top Secret clearance Doctorate degree in Optical Physics or related field Clearance: Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information; Secret clearance is required.
