Audio-Visual Technician

Job Summary Audio-Visual Technician, II – the University of Utah Department of Physical Therapy and Athletic Training seeks two Doctoral of Physical Therapy students per cohort to run and maintain the A/V equipment used to connect our sites in Salt Lake City and St. George, UT. They will also help clean and maintain lab spaces and perform other necessary tasks. A/V or computer technical support experience is preferred but not required. Occasional work during school breaks and on Saturdays is required. Job requires students to be eligible for and have accepted federal Work-Study funds. Troubleshooting equipment and computers will be required, as well as communicating progress to the team. Location Other – St. George, UT. Schedule Part-Time, Day shift, up to 10 hours per week. Occasional work during school breaks and on Saturdays, usually once per semester. Compensation Pay Rate up to $20.00/hr DOE. Responsibilities Operate and maintain A/V equipment across multiple locations. Provide ongoing troubleshooting of equipment and computers. Clean and maintain lab spaces. Perform other tasks and responsibilities as necessary. Work during school breaks and on Saturdays, usually once per semester. Minimum Qualifications At least 1 year of related experience, or equivalent (e.g., 1 year of higher education substitutable for 1 year of directly related work experience). Students enrolled in the Doctoral of Physical Therapy program. Eligibility for and acceptance of federal Work-Study funding. Some technical support experience preferred; Zoom or similar online meetings software experience is a must. Good spoken and written communication skills. Ability to work well in a team. Preferences University of Utah students who have been awarded a Federal Work-Study Award for the current year. Experience with Zoom or similar online meetings software. Some A/V or computer technical support experience is preferred, but not required. Other Requirements Successful completion of a criminal background check and/or drug screen may be required.
