Paid Parental LeavePosition Summary: The Electrical Engineer works with the Engineering team to serve clients and customersin the support of designing and manufacturing custom projects and equipment.Project Design/ManagementDevelop accurate, complete, and timely electrical drawings; work with customer to clarify details and obtainapprovalsDevelop detailed bill of materials and provide to procurement for fulfillmentProvide guidance to mechanical engineering group on integration of electrical and mechanical design; obtaincustomer approval as requiredFollow standard engineering processes and timelines, including execution of Electrical Reviews (ERs), Pre-ProjectReviews (PPRs) and post-project reviews where requiredProvide support for and monitor manufacturing group during production phase; ensure form/fit/function meetscustomer specsManage design schedule; ensure on-time deliveryEnsure all projects meet IE quality standards plus all defined customer quality specificationsParticipates in initial project kickoff reviews to evaluate accuracy of the of the estimate and job layoutAnalyzes plans and project specifications and codes to determine project requirementsInterface with customers as technical expert; provide recommendations on configuration of potential projects(write specifications where possible); make joint customer visits as required to close on large/critical projectsSupport business development with customer visits to strategic customer targetsParticipates in final walk-through inspection & manages the completion of all close out documentationProvide commissioning and field support on projects as requiredRespond to emergency service calls, in and out of assigned region, as required; trouble shoot problemsOther Essential DutiesMaintains regular and consistent job attendanceFollow and comply with IE safety programFollows and complies with IE Core ValuesMust be able to travel up to 10% of the timeAccomplishes all tasks as assigned or requestedRequirementsOther Duties as assignedEducation/ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 5-7 years of electrical design with NEC code experience, or anequivalent combination of education and experience in a closely related field.Five to seven years of electrical design with NEC code experience in a manufacturing settingThorough understanding of NEC (National Electric Code)Experience working with and designing low, medium and high voltage electrical distribution equipmentKnowledge, Skills And AbilitiesBachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 2 years of electrical design with NEC code experience, or anequivalent combination of education and experience in a closely related field.Deep understanding of electrical control, power distribution, and process equipment, standards, andspecificationsExperience with contract documents such as contract drawings, subcontracts, contract addendum, changeorders, etc.Experience working with and designing low, medium and high voltage electrical distribution equipmentProficient with engineering software (AutoCAD, etc.) ERP systems in quote development and Microsoft softwareStrong interpersonal and communication skillsCapable of working independently as well as in a team environmentMust be able to travel up to 10% of the time and possess a valid driver’s licenseKnowledge of applicable laws and regulations as they relate to information technology.Able to work efficiently and effectively in a team environmentExceptional verbal and written communication skillsLanguage AbilityAbility to read, analyze, and interpret Electrical drawings, prints, schematics and National Electric Code. Ability toeffectively discuss and convey technical information to customers, co-workers and other individuals as required by theposition. Ability to respond to common and technical questions related to projects or related aspects of the position. .Math AbilityAbility to perform moderate to complex electrical and math calculations in determining voltages, impedance resistance,amperage, current flow, etc. Must be able to analyze and verify detailed electrical specifications calculations andperform other general to moderate math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division Must beable to calculate statistics related to company dashboards and organizational metrics. Ability to apply concepts such asfractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.Reasoning AbilityAbility to comprehend and understand project related issues and develop and apply practical solutions. Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions in an efficient and effective manner. Ability tointerpret an extensive variety of electrical technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with severalabstract and concrete variables.Computer SkillsTo perform this job successfully, an individual should have skills and experience in:Microsoft Office software: Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, etc. – EPICOR 9/10Proficient with AutoCAD Electrical or closely related electrical engineering softwareERP systems ( Epicor 9-10 preferred)
