If you're passionate about outcomes and inspired by the opportunity to shape the future of healthcare infrastructure, we want you on our best-in-class team.About The RoleThe Transactions team at Welltower is a dynamic and non-traditional accounting team as we handle a variety of real estate transactions, such as acquisitions, dispositions, and restructures. This role is primarily responsible for preparing transaction journal entries, transaction accounting memos, and coordinating transaction integration with internal teams as well as our third-party operators.Key ResponsibilitiesReview executed legal agreements for accounting implicationsAssist with technical accounting research and document conclusions within accounting memorandumsPrepare journal entries for acquisitions, disposition, and other investment activityAssist in creation of new investment structures in Welltower's financial reporting systemsDevelop and maintain accounting estimation modelsMonitor financial results of various investment structuresCollaborate with other departments (Tax, Investments, Finance) on appropriate accounting treatment for various investment structuresCollaborate with other accounting teams (such as Leases, Loans, Property accounting, and Partnerships) on the recording of transactionsAssist in preparation of quarterly external reporting disclosuresOther duties may be assigned.Travel: Minimal to no travel is expected for this position.Minimum RequirementsBachelor's degree in Accounting is required.Work experience of at least five years.At least three years of Big 4 experience.Knowledge of accounting theory, including GAAP and IFRS, is strongly desired.Familiarity with real estate and international experience is a plus.Experience in performing financial reporting responsibilitiesAn understanding of consolidation principles and models (VOE/VIE), lease classification and lease accountingThe ability to comprehend complex accounting and investment conceptsProficient in accounting software, spreadsheets, and financial systems for data analysis and reportingProfessional certification of CPA or equivalent is strongly desired.Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check, drug screening, and verification of employment, education, and other credentials relevant to the position.What We OfferCompetitive Base Salary + Annual BonusGenerous Paid Time Off and HolidaysEmployee Stock Purchase Program – purchase shares at a 15% discountEmployer-matching 401(k) Program + Profit Sharing ProgramStudent Debt Program – we'll contribute up to $10,000 towards your student loans!Tuition Assistance ProgramComprehensive and progressive Medical/Dental/Vision optionsProfessional GrowthAnd much more!Welltower Inc.
