Job Title: Head Coach, CheerleadingLocation: Grand Peak AcademyFLSA Status: Non-ExemptReports to: Athletic Director / AdministrationWork Hours/Days: Part-Time, Seasonal; Most practices and event days will be held after school during the weekSeason Dates: August 2026 - February 2027Compensation: $2,000 one-time stipend payable at the conclusion of the seasonKey ResponsibilitiesProvide overall leadership, organization, and direction of the cheerleading programDevelop and implement practice plans, routines, cheers, and performance strategiesInstruct and prepare student-athletes for games, performances, and competitionsEstablish, communicate, and enforce program expectations, standards, and team cultureSupervise and delegate responsibilities to assistant coachAttend and oversee all practices, games, performances, and team activitiesEnsure effective preparation of the team for all performances and competitionsManage program operations, including communication, scheduling, uniforms, and equipmentMaintain clear, respectful communication with parents, school staff, and student-athletes regarding schedules, expectations, and program updatesPromote sportsmanship, teamwork, school spirit, and positive representation of Grand Peak AcademyEnsure compliance with all school, district, and league policiesMaintain a safe environment and ensure proper cheerleading safety practices are followedPosition RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GED requiredPrevious coaching experience required; cheerleading coaching experience preferredDemonstrated knowledge of cheerleading fundamentals, safety procedures, and program developmentStrong leadership, organizational, and communication skillsAbility to supervise staff and build a cohesive team environmentCompletion of Concussion Training or willingness to obtain prior to season startAdherence to all Grand Peak Academy policies, including the Employee Handbook, Family Handbook, and all applicable school and board policiesMandatory background check and fingerprintingPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift up to 25 poundsAbility to move throughout gymnasiums, fields, and athletic facilities, both indoors and outdoorsSalary: $2000 - $2000
