Removal Defense Attorney

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Removal Defense Attorney to join our team. The attorney will represent clients in removal proceedings and related immigration matters before the Immigration Court, Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA), and relevant U.S. immigration agencies. This role involves managing a full caseload, maintaining direct client contact, and collaborating with the legal team to provide strategic, compassionate, and culturally sensitive representation. Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English is required.ResponsibilitiesAnalyze complex legal issues and develop defense strategies tailored to individual casesIdentify avenues for relief and stays of removal involving immigration and criminal law intersectionsConduct legal research on immigration statutes, regulations, case law, and policy updatesDraft legal briefs, motions, affidavits, and supporting documents for immigration courts, BIA, and government agenciesPresent legal arguments, evidence, and witness testimony in support of relief from removalAdvocate for asylum, cancellation of removal, adjustment of status, waivers, and other immigration relief optionsMeet clients at detention centers for case assessments and testimony preparationRepresent clients before ICE, EOIR, BIA, and USCIS, both in person and virtuallyMaintain consistent and empathetic communication with clients throughout the legal processRequirementsJuris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited U.S. law schoolMinimum 2–3 years of immigration law experience with strong removal defense backgroundFull professional fluency in Spanish and English, both written and spokenStrong legal writing, oral advocacy, and organizational skillsExperience with EOIR systems and USCIS proceduresLicensed and in good standing in any U.S. jurisdictionWillingness to travel as needed
