Cable Technician - Structured Cabling & Network Infrastructure

Job DescriptionAbout This OpportunityCTI Consulting & Staffing is partnering with a growing network infrastructure organization to place three Cable Technicians for an onsite deployment project in Laredo, TX. This is an immediate-start, 3-month contract with strong potential to extend.You'll be part of a field installation team responsible for deploying structured cabling and network hardware across multiple active client sites. This is hands-on work in real construction environments - if you like building things, working with your hands, and seeing a project come together, this is the role for you.What You'll DoInstall structured Ethernet cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a) across multiple client sitesInstall EMT conduit per project specifications and safety standardsPerform rack and stack of network switches and UPS equipmentMount and position wireless access points and outdoor wireless bridgesMount and support physical security camerasInventory and track hardware, materials, and installation progressWork safely and effectively in active construction environments, above ceilings, and in confined spacesCollaborate with a field team to meet project milestones on scheduleRequirementsWhat You BringMust-Have:Local to Laredo, TX - this is a fully onsite role; candidates must be available to work in Laredo dailyHands-on experience installing structured cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, and/or Cat6a)Ability to work on active construction sites, above ceilings, and in confined or tight spacesPhysical ability to lift and carry equipment, climb ladders, and stand/bend/kneel for extended periodsStrong attention to detail and commitment to safety standardsAbility to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a teamMust not require visa sponsorship to work in the USNice-to-Have:Prior telecom or low-voltage installation experienceExperience working on construction sites alongside other tradesLow voltage, BICSI, or structured cabling certificationsExperience with wireless access point or security camera installationFamiliarity with hardware inventory and materials trackingTechnical Environment:Structured cabling: Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6aEMT conduit installationNetwork switches, UPS systems (rack and stack)Wireless access points and outdoor wireless bridgesPhysical security camera hardwareWhat Success Looks Like:Clean, compliant cable runs and installations completed on schedule across all assigned sitesHardware mounted, racked, and tracked accurately with minimal reworkStrong safety record and positive collaboration with the broader field team throughout the project
