Parts Manager

Tom Wood Toyota, in Whitestown, IN is looking for a Parts Manager to join our team!The Parts Manager is responsible for leading all operations of the dealership’s parts department, including inventory control, purchasing, wholesale and retail parts sales, staff development, customer service, and profitability. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in a high-accountability environment and takes pride in operational excellence, inventory accuracy, and team development.Responsibilities:Manage daily parts inventory operationsOrder parts from manufacturers and approved vendorsMaintain proper stock levels to minimize obsolescence and shortagesOversee perpetual inventory processes, physical inventories, and reconciliation procedures to ensure inventory accuracy and minimize shrinkageMonitor parts returns, warranties, and core creditsLead, develop, coach, and hold accountable all parts department team membersSet performance goals and monitor productivityCoach team members on customer service and dealership proceduresEnsure compliance with safety and operational policiesSupport retail and internal service department customersEnsure timely and accurate parts lookup and fulfillmentResolve customer complaints and supplier issuesBuild relationships with repair shops and wholesale accountsManage department profitability and expense controlTrack KPIs such as gross profit, inventory turns, fill rates, and obsolescencePrepare reports for dealership leadershipMaintain accurate pricing and marginsEnsure compliance with manufacturer programs and dealership standardsMaintain organized storage and receiving areasPartner closely with service leadership to maximize technician efficiency, parts availability, and overall fixed operations performanceUse dealership management systems (DMS) effectivelyQualifications:3+ years of automotive parts management experience preferredStrong understanding of OEM inventory control, obsolescence management, and dealership operationsProven ability to improve inventory accuracy, gross profit, and department performanceExperience leading teams in a fast-paced dealership environmentStrong understanding of dealership KPIs including gross profit, inventory turns, fill rate, and expense controlExperience with dealership management systems (DMS)Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skillsValid driver’s license with clean driving recordBenefits:PTO & VacationPaid HolidaysMedicalDentalVision401k with Company MatchLifeDisabilityTrainingTuition ReimbursementService AwardsCareer AdvancementWisley & DailyPayAbout Tom Wood GroupThe Tom Wood Group is proud to be family-owned and locally operated for over 50 years.
