Receiving Clerk

We operate 19 branch locations and 13 showrooms throughout Georgia, Tennessee, and South Carolina.Function: Unload incoming material from LTL and other freight trucks. Work to ensure all material is put away accurately. Rotate material in the yard, ranging from Aquatic Tubs, PVC, and SDR. Keep the yard organized and clean for the organization of all materials that is stored outside.Principal Duties and Responsibilities:Schedule all incoming freight deliveries promptly, only refusing a delivery with proper authorization.Assist with all incoming freight during peak times, verifying the accuracy of material via Bill of Lading and Packing Lists, notating any shortages or discrepancies.Advise the manufacturer and purchasing department of any shortages, damages, or problems with the order; log accordinglyAll inbound paperwork is to be filed in its respective filing cabinets in the receiving officeAssist other departments during peak times.Keep the workspace clean of any unnecessary clutter while adhering to a 5S standardObserve all safety rules and regulations; wear proper safety equipmentOther duties as assignedPosition Requirements: High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or training in warehouse operations is a plus.Previous experience in warehouse operations, preferably in the plumbing, lighting, or appliance supply industry.Ability to lift and move heavy objects, stand for extended periods, and work in a fast-paced environment.Strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing tasks such as counting, labeling, and sorting.Excellent organizational and time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and handheld barcode scanners.Valid driver's license and forklift certification may be required, depending on job duties.
