Machine Operator I (Processing), 1st Shift Work Location: Forest ParkPosition requires the ability to work overtime. As a result, it may require working varying start times, end times, and weekends dependent on business needs. Hours are 4:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.Want to make an impact?The Machine Operator in panning and engrossing departments is responsible for making quality candies by following company guidelines and specifications in a safe, efficient, and sanitary manner.Ways you will make a differenceConducts assigned work in a safe manner and adheres to all good manufacturing principlesVerifies centers that will be engrossed meet all quality standards regarding size and textureFeeds kettle with raw materials (sugar, syrup, flavorings) and cooks ingredients to specificationsResponsible for safe operation and sanitary upkeep of entire bay of pansConducts adjustments to controls to regulate temperature and amount of raw materialsLoads trays/boards on truck to be sent to the polishing roomChecks production schedule to determine variety and quantity of productsConducts on-going quality checks to ensure highest product quality Perform product changeoversInforms immediate supervisor of any problems encountered including, but not limited to quality, safety and/or equipment performance.Skills that will make you successfulAbility to manage and troubleshoot problems involving variables in standardized situationsTalents in machine operation and ability to troubleshoot problems with all process equipmentSkills in performing simple mathematical calculationsAbility to work overtime as neededCapable of understanding time tracking objectives with the ability to swipe into orders and perform other objectives in the production systemsExperiences that will support your successHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED)Three months or more of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experienceEnglish speaking and reading skillsPromotes teamwork, possesses a good attitude, and exhibits flexibility and willingness to perform tasks as neededWhat We OfferAt Ferrara, we're proud to support our employees by providing comprehensive benefits such as health insurance, dental insurance, a 401(k), and paid time off (PTO).
