If travel is involved and after selection the candidate declines the offer, costs will be paid by vendor and not Capgemini.JOB DESCRIPTION:Title: Apigee and JavaScript DeveloperGoal: Design, secure, and operate scalable APIs on Google Apigee that reliably integrate backend services and meet performance, security, and governance standards.THE MOST RELEVANT SKILLGoogle Apigee API development — ability to design, implement, secure, and operate full API lifecycles (proxy design, policies, security, analytics) in production environments.SCOPEDesign, build, version, and maintain RESTful APIs using Apigee Edge and/or Apigee X.Develop and configure custom Apigee policies using JavaScript, XML, and native Apigee extensions.Implement and enforce API security controls including OAuth 2.0, API keys, JWT, quotas, and rate limiting***Integrate APIs with backend systems, microservices, and cloud-hosted services.Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize API performance using Apigee analytics and logs.Collaborate with DevOps and engineering teams to support CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.MUST-HAVES (NON-NEGOTIABLE)Hands-on Google Apigee experience — proven ability to build and manage APIs using Apigee Edge or Apigee X (not specified).JavaScript for Apigee policies — develop, debug, and maintain JavaScript-based policies for request/response processing.RESTful API design — design APIs with proper resource modeling, HTTP methods, status codes, pagination, and error handling.API security implementation — configure OAuth 2.0, API keys, JWT validation, and traffic management policies.API lifecycle management — manage development, deployment, versioning, and retirement of APIs in Apigee.Performance monitoring and troubleshooting — use Apigee analytics and logs to identify and resolve latency, errors, and throughput issues.Backend integration — connect APIs to microservices or backend systems using HTTP-based integrations.Collaboration and documentation — participate in code reviews and produce clear API and policy documentation.GOOD-TO-HAVES (NEGOTIABLE)Cloud platform experience — familiarity with GCP, AWS, or Azure environments and services.Node.js knowledge — ability to support or extend API logic using Node.js-based services.Microservices architecture — understanding of service-to-service communication and API gateways.CI/CD exposure — experience with pipelines and automated deployments for APIs.Automated testing — familiarity with API testing tools or frameworks.REJECTION LIST (DISQUALIFIERS)Reject if missing: hands-on Google Apigee experience.Reject if missing: JavaScript development for Apigee policies.Reject if missing: RESTful API design and HTTP fundamentals.Reject if missing: implementation of API security (OAuth 2.0, API keys, JWT).Reject if lacking: experience monitoring and troubleshooting APIs in production.
