About the position: Working in a Toyota Production System (TPS) environment, coaches, mentors, provides leadership to, and provides on-the-job training to employees regarding environmental, health and safety (EHS) activities and responsibilities in their assigned functional areas. Sets an example for safe behavior. Ensures compliance with Company EHS policy and coordinates with EHS Business Partner to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations and laws. Uses problem solving techniques to proactively address issues or concerns, elevating to Supervisor, Manager and/or EHS Business Partner as necessary. Leads risk assessments to proactively identify and support implementation of corrective actions for operations processes in area of responsibility. Risk assessments will focus on continuous improvement. Works closely with EHS Business Partner to investigate all incidents to identify the root cause. Supports implementation of agreed up on corrective actions. Performs program inspections and audits to ensure compliance with Company policy and regulations (e.g. LOTO, Crane/Hoist, etc.). Performs STOP observations, reviews trends in area of responsibility and supports implementation of corrective actions. Delivers EHS related on-the-job training for employees in functional area of responsibility, ensuring all employees are well trained for safe and successful completion of their jobs. Support & implement DOJO training, Safety on the Move, and process specific training in their area. Provides support for new employees, using periodic touchpoints to make sure that employees fully understand how to perform their work safely and are familiar with all related policies and procedures. Reviews, updates, and creates Standard Work Instructions, following Company/Departmental protocols, to ensure safe practices are embedded in all work instructions. Participates in monthly safety meetings; prepares and delivers presentations at meetings and to employees. Regular attendance in the workplace is required for interaction with others and to support teamwork. Performs related work as assigned. About the schedule: This position is 1st shift. About you: An Associate's Degree in a related field is preferred. Two or more years of experience working in the functional area of responsibility is required. Completion of the OSHA ten and/or OSHA 30 hour course is preferred, or completed within thirty days of assignment. Successful completion of the following prior to or within six months of assignment required: Train the Trainer, Safety on the Move Train the Trainer, and STOP Observation Training. About the total compensation package: Wage: $22.47 - $28.76 per hour. Compensation commensurate with selected candidate's experience.
