Description: L3Harris is seeking a motivated individual looking for an exciting opportunity to join the team as a Network Planning Engineer supporting the FAA/FTI program. As a Network Planning Engineer, the candidate will support the design, implementation, and optimization of communication network solutions. The candidate will collaborate with internal and external teams, and work independently on special projects, including developing network designs based on emerging customer requirements. Other tasks include negotiating commercial vendor products, developing procedures for implementing new network designs, and managing small to large network projects.
Job Description:
Manages telecommunications special construction projects resulting from customer requests for quotes (RFP’s) or telecommunication access solution orders that result in non-recurring construction scope and/or cost
Builds and maintains relationships with carrier POC’s responsible for implementing construction projects
Maintains all electronic data and critical project documentation and as-builts
Creates and provides metrics/performance data and for use in program management reviews
Schedules project kickoff meeting with all parties responsible for implementation
Provides daily support to implementation team and ensures vendors are communicating effectively with all internal and external stakeholders
Proven working experience in civil construction management
Advanced knowledge of civil construction management processes, means and methods
Expert knowledge of civil telecommunications specific products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
Technical Skills:
Understanding of Telecommunications Carrier LEC/CLEC & IXC connectivity and infrastructure
o Knowledge of telecommunications carrier ordering systems and processes
o Knowledge of Transport/Access equipment installation, test & turnup including new installs, additions, removals, provisioning and turnup of systems
o Knowledge of Telecommunications support systems (E.g. Access Cabling infrastructure, DC Power plants/Battery systems, etc.) including installation, test & turnup, additions, replacements and removals
o Knowledge of civil engineering projects including public right of way permitting

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Civil, Telecommunications Engineering Technology or Information Systems with Network Focus preferred
Minimum of 10 years of telecommunications engineering design experience, knowledge of carrier ordering systems and processes with three to five years project management and/or people management experience preferred

Pay: Up to $50.00 per hour
