Senior Structural Engineer

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Senior Structural Engineer to join our growing team at VN Engineers, Inc. The ideal candidate will lead the analysis, design, and contract document development for major transportation structures. Project Management experience is a plus, but not required and internal management training will be provided. Key Responsibilities: Lead the design and development of bridge and other structure projects Conduct detailed structural analysis and design calculations Prepare plans, specifications, and cost estimates for projects Manage project budgets and schedules Mentor and supervise the work of junior engineers and technicians Provide on-site inspection and construction management services Stay up to date with the latest bridge engineering technologies and design methodologies Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field required, Master of Science with a focus in Structural Engineering preferred Minimum of 8 years of experience in bridge engineering Progressive experience in design and construction of bridges Experience in the development of demolition plans and specifications is a plus Strong knowledge of AASHTO, AREMA, State Design Manuals and Standards Experience using industry-standard software such as MicroStation v8i, OpenBridge, AutoCAD, STAAD, LARSA 4D, Midas, MDX, AASHTOWare Strong technical writing and communication skills NY PE license is required Experience in a lead role in bridge design, construction, and maintenance projects Experience working on Design Build projects is a plus but not required Experience working with the MTA, PANYNJ, NYSDOT, or NYCDOT is a plus but not required Passion for the field of structural engineering We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, as well as opportunities for professional development and advancement.
