Aircraft Sheet Metal/Structural Mechanic

Aircraft Sheet Metal MechanicStrategic Support Solutions is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Aircraft Sheet Metal Mechanic to join our team. You will be assigned to support a premier client in the aerospace and defense industry, performing structural repairs, modifications, and corrosion control on a variety of aircraft.The ideal candidate will be an expert in working with thin-skinned aircraft, adept at reading technical drawings, and committed to the highest standards of safety and quality. This role requires a high degree of proficiency with industry-standard tools and procedures. If you are a motivated technician with a passion for aviation and a strong work ethic, we encourage you to apply.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform corrosion repair, mitigation, and structural modifications on aircraft panels and components.Inspect and evaluate structural damage to aircraft sheet metal systems.Mechanically strip paint materials and prepare composite surfaces using state-of-the-art materials and methods.Remove and reinstall aircraft panels, skins, and other components in preparation for maintenance and coating applications.Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, technical data, and manufacturing specifications to ensure all work is performed to standard.Accurately complete all required paperwork, including work orders, log entries, and parts requests, utilizing manufacturers' manuals.Qualifications & RequirementsExperience & SkillsA minimum of three (3) years of recent and continuous experience as a sheet metal mechanic, specifically working on general aviation aircraft with thin skins.Proficiency with common sheet metal tools, including rivet guns, pneumatic drills, sanders, grinders, and precision measuring instruments.Strong ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.Professional demeanor with the ability to handle stressful situations.Tools & EquipmentCandidates must possess their own complete set of tools required for the job.All tools must be shadowed and etched in compliance with the site's tool control policy before starting.Certifications & ChecksAn FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license is preferred but not required.A practical skills test will be administered as part of the hiring process.Must be able to pass employment verification and an FBI criminal history records check for unescorted access to Security Identification Display Areas (SIDA).Physical DemandsMust be physically able to perform all duties of an aircraft mechanic.Ability to stand, squat, sit, walk, and work with arms overhead for extended periods.Capable of lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs.Why Join Strategic Support Solutions?We are committed to our employees and offer a comprehensive and competitive benefits package.Extremely Competitive SalaryGenerous Paid Time Off (PTO)401(k) Retirement PlanWeekly Pay ScheduleEmployer-Paid Life InsuranceEmployer Contribution to Medical InsuranceEmployer-Paid Tele-medicine AccessNon-taxable Per Diem (for qualifying employees)Exclusive Discount Programs for travel, entertainment, and more
