Communications Manager, Technical Programs

The MissionOur clients don't just want their marketing systems to work — they want to know exactly how, when, and why they work. And right now, that's the gap. Technical programs move fast, get complicated, and generate a lot of moving parts across ecosystem builds, platform migrations, and experience-ops projects — and when the documentation doesn't keep pace, clients feel it. They ask questions we should've already answered. They lose confidence in a program that's actually going fine, because nobody wrote down that it's going fine. We're bringing in someone whose sole mission is making sure that never happens again. You'll own client-facing documentation and communication across our technical programs — status updates, progress reports, technical write-ups — so every client always knows exactly where things stand, without having to ask. What You'll DoOwn documentation for technical programs from kickoff through delivery — the single source of truth clients and internal teams can trustWrite and maintain client-facing status reports and progress updates that translate technical work into something a non-technical stakeholder actually understandsPartner directly with the technical and marketing ops teams to stay close enough to the work to document it accurately, not just summarize what you're told secondhandBuild repeatable documentation standards and templates so quality doesn't depend on who's writing that weekFlag gaps, risks, or miscommunications before they become a client's problem — documentation here is a tripwire, not just a recordWhat You BringMust-haves:3+ years of experience in communications, technical writing, or a closely related fieldStrong writing — clear, precise, and able to make technical work legible to a non-technical readerEnterprise marketing operations backgroundNice-to-haves:Experience writing documentation or status comms for technical or MarTech implementation projects specificallyFamiliarity with tools like Adobe Workfront or Salesforce Marketing Cloud (we're an Adobe partner with Salesforce-certified consultants — you don't need to be certified, but knowing your way around this world helps)The Fine PrintNo visa sponsorship available for this roleHybrid — based in Atlanta, GAWhy Block+TackleWe started Block+Tackle in 2013 to fix the constant miscommunication between marketing and data teams — and over a decade later, that's still the fight we're in. We're battle-tested in both languages, and we take the "impossible" ideas and turn them into tactical strategies that actually work in the real world. Our clients — from Georgia-Pacific to Delta to Home Depot — count on us to be the ones who get it right, and that trust is built one clear, accurate status update at a time. This role is the discipline behind that trust.
