Overview
The Construction Supervisor is responsible for supporting all the field construction activities including material supply, staffing, tooling & equipment needs and interacting with onsite customer representative on a daily basis. This position is role reports to Construction Manager.
Responsibilities
• Project Size Remit: Medium size projects having up to 350,000 construction work-hours or a total installed cost of less than $75 million or a similar defined scope on larger projects.
• Actively participate in development of a construction HSSE culture that makes safety and environmental awareness a natural part of the job.
• Plan daily construction activities at work site, including scheduling of workers, delivery of equipment and materials, and progress of the project.
• Manage Project Labor Union/Industrial relations per agreements
• Manage Craft Subcontracts activities including cost, quality, and schedule and progress.
• Ensures that subordinates are knowledgeable of specifications and work procedures.
• Performs work in conformance with plans, specifications, schedules, and cost control estimates.
• Controls change/scope creep, ensuring that all scope changes are quickly and properly documented, and that change orders are approved prior to the performance of work.
• Reviews work assignments with craft supervisors and gives instruction relative to the methods and procedures to be used as well as desired results.
• Ensures subordinate personnel receive progressive training to enable them to assume additional responsibilities.
• Implementation and Management of CB&I procedures and standards for Quality and HSES
• Knowledge of supervisory functions relating to discipline field activities.
• Knowledge of the use of subcontracts, and the contractor and subcontractor's responsibilities contained in subcontract documents.
• Experience working with, supervising and administering subcontractors and/or Direct Hire workforce.
• Actively participate in development of a construction HSSE culture that makes safety and environmental awareness a natural part of the job.
• Supervise CB&I craft personnel and support resources to ensure completion of the work to schedule, budget, specifications, and manage all field resources.
• Ensure all lower tier supervisors are knowledgeable of specifications and work procedures and are adequately trained in Safety, Industrial Relations, Management and Construction Procedures.
• Coordinate interfaces between CB&I and other contractors to provide appropriate work site access to all parties.
• Monitor construction workhours to relevant cost codes and interact with Project Controls to prepare weekly construction progress reports.
• Daily interface concerning permits for construction.
• Ensures subordinate personnel receive progressive training to enable them to assume additional responsibilities.
Local Requirements
Central construction Supervisor role should be based in our Plainfield IL office where the best support is for the type of contracts to be managed out of the central group. The exception could be a person with sufficient training and experience could be assigned from another home base office such as The Woodlands TX.
The position does require considerable amount of travel up to 75% on an average of your time or more will be traveling away from your home base to support the projects assigned. Our central group region of operation is pretty much the lower 48 states
This position is office based with extensive travel requirements, including some weekend travel requirements. Weekly travel can be three to four days per week.
Position requires extensive knowledge of crane and safe rigging practices including developing lift plans and evaluating site conditions and hazards.
Position requires understanding of steel erection practices.
Position requires knowledge of weld joint preparation, fitting and welding with various processes.
Position requires good positive communication and trust with construction personnel at remote job sites. As you will be the primary first person that the construction personnel communicate their needs.
Qualifications
• 8+ Years hands-on construction experience with 4+ Years supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of CB&I products and markets
• Certifications in regulatory codes and standards related to construction activities (OSHA, Hoisting & Lifting plans, etc.)
• Advanced knowledge and experience in the broad application of construction & welding equipment
• Advanced knowledge of codes, materials & standards related to CB&I products and site erection & welding operations

Pay Range USD $127,000- $160,000/Annually
