School Bus Driver SubstituteEffective communication and problem solving skills. Ability to problem solve in a fast paced work environment Ability to work collaboratively in an educational setting. Regular and predictable attendance Qualified to be employed as a School Bus Driver per Civil Service and NYS Education Department guidelines. Possession of a valid NYS Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with a Passenger (P) endorsement at the time of appointment, and maintenance of such license throughout the tenure of employment in the position. Ability to pass a qualifying physical exam Demonstrate good eye-hand-foot coordination, and good spatial perception to enable good judgment of distance for safe and precise passing, braking, and parking Ability to bend, kneel, sit, and stand for extended periods of time.Shall include but are not limited to the following:Attend meetings as neededFollow directives (written, oral, electronic)General Bus Driver assignmentsTransports pupils safely to and from school daily, according to established routes and time schedulesMaintains proper student behavior on bus when drivingNotifies Director of Transportation of any hazardous road, bridge, or other condition which may jeopardize the safety of children being transported to the from schoolSweeps interior of bus daily and cleans headlights, signal lights, and tail lightsKeeps bus windshields, windows, and rear view mirrors clean at all timesCompletes a daily record sheet including mileage and any bus malfunctionObserves all rules, regulations, policies, and procedures regarding qualifications of bus drivers, safe operation of buses and personal characteristicsOther assigned duties and/or responsibilities which may be deemed appropriate by the supervisor. Maintain Data Security as applicable. Maintain confidentiality with staff, student, and family information Operate in a respectful, responsible mannerReports to: Director of Transportation Salary: $25 per hour as per the contract between Victor Central Schools and the CSEA Unit
