ACIBuilds.comSummary/ObjectiveResponsible for installation, troubleshooting, repair, inspection and testing fire alarm systemsEssential FunctionsInstallation, troubleshooting and repair of complex networked and non-networked fire alarm systems with limited or no supervisionAssisting our Construction Fire Alarm Division in troubleshooting, inspecting and testing large scale networked fire alarm/mass notification systems for extended periods of timePerform fire alarm, sprinkler, and extinguisher inspectionsRead and interpret drawings and specifications to determine layout requirementsAssist in training and directing the day to day work of a helperAs a fire alarm service technician, must Maintain appropriate documentation for the work performedPerforms other duties as assignedSupervisory Responsibility: NRequiredKnowledge of industry standards for fire alarm systems installationExperience with a variety of system manufacturers Troubleshooting skills including, researching on line, system manuals to resolve problemsExperience with conduit bending, understanding of blue prints and wiring schematics and layout of system installationsExceptional communication skills with customers, other field personnel, office staff and sub-contractorsMust be flexible in adapting to changes in priorities, work assignments, and other interruptions that may impact pre-established courses of action for completing or progressing with projects and assignmentsMust adhere to all company policy and proceduresWork EnvironmentThe work environment and physical demands required would be representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, and may include, but are not limited to the following:May work in varying temperatures; both inside and outside, including inclement weather, heat, humidity, cold and dampnessMay work in areas with exposure to moderate/high noise levelsMay be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including dustMay be required to work in confined spaces or from high heightsPhysical DemandsThis role routinely uses construction equipment such as heavy machinery, hand and power tools.While performing duties of the job the employee may work aloft, climb, bend, pull, reach overhead, stand/walk for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbsFrequently is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; and reach with hands and armsMust be able to correctly identify all colors of a color-coded cable/wires and see close vision, distance vision, depth perception, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focusTravelMay require travel (typically not overnight)PreferredPrior military experience HS diploma or GED equivalentACIBuilds.comFire Alarm Service Technician
