Our engineers and space scientists are on a mission to eliminate the connectivity gaps faced by today’s five billion mobile subscribers and finally bring broadband to the billions who remain unconnected.Position OverviewThe Quality Engineering Manager is responsible for leading Quality Assurance efforts supporting the production of complex systems for a next-generation telecommunications satellite constellation. This role ensures that all products meet stringent quality, reliability, and compliance standards while driving continuous improvement across manufacturing operations. The position requires a strong leader capable of developing high-performing teams, optimizing quality systems, and partnering cross-functionally to meet production, cost, and schedule objectives.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and own all Quality Engineering activities, including inspection plan development, nonconformance management, and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) processesEstablish, implement, and continuously improve quality systems, processes, and procedures to support production operationsOversee compliance planning and execution to ensure adherence to internal standards and regulatory requirementsManage and develop a team of Quality Engineers, ensuring performance, accountability, and professional growthEnsure manufactured products meet all quality standards while maintaining alignment with production schedules and cost targetsDrive continuous improvement initiatives utilizing structured problem-solving methodologiesLead internal audits and support external audits as required; ensure effective closure of findingsDevelop and deliver training programs to enhance quality awareness, technical capability, and process adherencePartner with cross-functional teams including Manufacturing, Engineering, and Operations to resolve complex technical and performance issuesFoster a culture of accountability, engagement, and operational excellence across the team QualificationsEducation:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical field preferredExperience:Minimum of 3 years of experience supervising Quality Engineering teams (5+ direct reports)Experience leading quality operations within manufacturing or production environmentsProven track record of driving quality improvements and resolving complex nonconformance issuesPreferred QualificationsExperience in aerospace, telecommunications, or other high-reliability industriesWorking knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologiesExperience with quality management systems (QMS) and regulatory compliance frameworksFamiliarity with production environments involving complex electromechanical systemsSoft SkillsStrong leadership presence with the ability to motivate, engage, and develop teamsExcellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skillsAbility to influence cross-functional stakeholders and drive alignmentHigh level of accountability with strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities Technology StackMicrosoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)Quality management and documentation systems (QMS tools preferred)Data analysis and reporting toolsPhysical RequirementsAbility to work in a manufacturing and production environmentMay require standing, walking, and interacting with hardware for extended periodsAbility to work flexible hours as needed to support production schedules This job description may not be inclusive to the duties and responsibilities listed.
