As a publicly traded company operating in the physical security sector, disciplined, strategic, and compliant communication is essential to maintaining credibility and supporting long-term growth.Key ResponsibilitiesInvestor Relations & Public Company CommunicationsOwn and maintain the investor relations website, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and professionalismDraft and coordinate earnings press releases and supporting materialsAssist in preparation of executive scripts and remarks for earnings calls and investor presentationsDraft shareholder communications and investor updatesCoordinate distribution of material announcements in partnership with finance and legalEnsure alignment across press releases, investor materials, and public disclosuresMedia & Public RelationsDraft and distribute press releases across corporate milestones, partnerships, product announcements, and financial updatesBuild and maintain targeted media relationships across industry and business outletsManage inbound media inquiries and coordinate interviewsProactively identify and pursue media opportunitiesMonitor coverage, sentiment, and share of voiceExecutive CommunicationsDraft talking points, prepared remarks, briefing documents, and executive messagingSupport CEO and leadership visibility through strategic communication planningPrepare executives for media interviews, investor discussions, and public appearancesEnsure executive messaging aligns with company strategy and disclosure requirementsInternal CommunicationsDevelop and manage company-wide communications and leadership updatesSupport town halls, major announcements, and organizational communicationsBuild a consistent internal communication cadence as the company scalesEnsure alignment and clarity during high-impact company momentsCorporate Narrative & Modern Communication ChannelsDefine and refine Knightscopes corporate narrative across all audiencesEnsure consistency across websites, investor materials, press releases, executive messaging, and digital channelsSupport strategic messaging across digital platforms including websites, social channels, and executive profilesTranslate complex financial and technical information into clear, accessible communicationIncorporate visual and digital elements into communication strategies where appropriateCrisis & Issues ManagementDevelop and draft reactive statements when necessarySupport coordinated communication during sensitive or high-visibility situationsMonitor media and public sentiment for reputational riskRequired Qualifications10+ years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or investor relationsDirect experience in a publicly traded company is requiredDemonstrated ownership of corporate communications programs, not just tactical supportExceptional writing, editing, and executive communication skillsProven ability to communicate complex financial, operational, and technical topics clearlyExperience working directly with executive leadershipStrong understanding of disclosure best practices and public company communication standardsAbility to manage confidential information with discretion and sound judgmentComfortable operating independently while collaborating across departmentsCompensation & BenefitsBase Salary:$130k 150k DOEEquity:Stock optionsBenefits:Medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid time offLocation Requirement:Full-time, on-site at Sunnyvale HQ
