We build supportive relationships that empower teacher leaders to facilitate high-functioning professional learning communities, ensuring equitable learning opportunities and improved student outcomes aligned with school priorities.Position Summary: Under the direction of the principal, the Elementary PLC Coach facilitates teacher and team improvement through relationship-based and student-centered coaching. The Coach partners with the school leadership team to build the capacity of teacher leaders to lead learning within their teams. This role focuses on translating school-wide goals into actionable team practices, utilizing school-level screening and assessment data to drive instructional decisions.Essential Functions:Build Teacher Leader Capacity: Mentor and coach grade-level team leads to facilitate effective PLC meetings focused on the four critical questions of a PLC.Data Systems & Management: Support teams in using school-level screening and assessment options (e.g., Acadience, district benchmarks) to identify student needs and monitor progress.Alignment with School Priorities: Partner with the leadership team to ensure team-level learning and goals are strictly aligned with the School Success Plan.Adult Learning Facilitation: Apply adult learning theory to design and provide targeted professional learning that builds long-term teacher capacity.Coaching Cycles: Provide frequent, regular coaching cycles focused on student-centered outcomes and instructional high-leverage practices. Models growth mindset and being vulnerable to new challenges by being willing to model teach, self reflect on those practices and adjust instruction based on student outcomes. The coach models and articulates this process with teachers and teams.Instructional Support and PLC guidance: Help teachers and teams improve instruction collaboratively. Develop "essentials," common formative assessments, and differentiated instructional strategies for diverse elementary learners.Collaboration: Model best practices for collaborative work in both small and large group settings to foster a culture of continuous improvement.Qualifications:Requires a current State of Utah teaching certificate.Requires a minimum of 5 years of successful classroom teaching experience (multiple grade level experience preferred).Master's Degree preferred (Master's or Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or related field required).Coaching Endorsement preferred.Evidence of leading a successful team (e.g., Grade Level Collaborative Team Leader)Profound understanding of adult learning theory and its application in a school setting.Proficiency in elementary screening and assessment options and data management systems.Exceptional interpersonal and relationship-building skills to coach individuals and groups at all organizational levels.Demonstrated competence in providing professional development and modeling best practices for elementary instruction.Basic knowledge of web-based systems including Google Apps, Skyward, ALO, i-Ready, Wonders, Alpine Data Website, USBE Data Gateway, Elevation, Google Classroom and MasteryConnect.
