Electrician - 1st ShiftThis position supports safe and efficient mill operations by installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical equipment and control systems in an industrial manufacturing environment.Starting hourly base rate $29.32 – $33.92Essential Job Duties: The following duties are considered essential job functions, meaning they are fundamental to the position and performed with or without reasonable accommodation:Perform electrical and mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation work on plant equipment (including dryers, lathes, clippers, splicers, saws, and mobile equipment) under the direction of the Maintenance Manager and Plant Engineer.Use required electrical PPE and standard trade tools/equipment (including ladders and manlifts) to complete assigned work safely.Follow all safety policies (including lockout/tagout procedures), and applicable work standards while performing job duties.Understand and diagnose motor controls (including starters, contactors, overloads, relays, and VFD basics as applicable).Understand facility electrical distribution systems.Identify and mitigate electrical hazards; follow applicable safety practices (including LOTO and arc-flash precautions).Understand fundamentals of electrical controls used in automation (e.g., sensors, PLC I/O, and basic troubleshooting).Perform work in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and applicable local/state codes.Leads as an example of CFP's values: Customer Service, Absolute Integrity, We Are Family, Share the Success.Proactive and effective communication with team members at all levels of the organization.Ability to effectively manage competing priorities and stressful situations.Ability to work cooperatively with others.Other duties may be assigned.Physical Demands:Sustained physical effort, continuity of effort.Short-cycle work requiring continuous activity.Must concentrate mental and visual attention, coordinating a high degree of manual dexterity with close visual attention for sustained periods.Be able to lift up to 50 pounds.Be able to climb ladders.Be able to work with hands over headBe able to tighten and loosen fastenersQualification and Educational Requirements:Valid Journeyman or Master Electrician license required (as applicable for the work performed).Two (2) years of industrial electrical experience preferred.Work Schedule / Availability:Reliable attendance and willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime, nights, weekends and holidays.PPE Requirements:Safety glasses, hard hat and hearing protection.Electrical PPE (EH rated gloves, EH rated composite toe safety shoes, arc flash uniform, etc.)Work Environment:Manufacturing: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, grease, oil, and voltages of up to 480 volts. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
