Job DescriptionAbout the RoleAt PSS Cross Country Infrastructure Solutions, every team member plays a critical role in delivering the products, equipment, and expertise that keep America’s infrastructure projects moving forward.The Material Handler is responsible for supporting daily warehouse operations, including receiving, storing, packaging, shipping, and distributing materials within the warehouse environment. This role plays a key part in maintaining accurate inventory, ensuring timely order fulfillment, and supporting safe and efficient warehouse operations in a fast-paced distribution environment.This position reports to the Warehouse Supervisor or Branch Manager and collaborates closely with warehouse staff, drivers, and operations personnel.What You’ll DoWarehouse Operations & Inventory ManagementPull the correct quantity and product from designated inventory locations based on picking or transfer ticketsReceive, store, organize, and distribute materials within the warehouseStock and store products in designated inventory locations following established proceduresRecord and maintain accurate inventory location information and product quantitiesPerform inventory control audits and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracyAssist with internal transfers and movement of materials between locationsShipping & ReceivingBuild cartons and package products securely for outbound shipments and deliveriesLoad and unload materials from trucks using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other warehouse equipmentVerify receipt of incoming materials against packing slips and delivery ticketsConfirm products received match vendor packing lists and purchase order documentationSupport shipping and receiving documentation and recordkeeping processesEquipment & SafetyOperate warehouse equipment including forklifts, pallet jacks, and laddersComplete daily forklift inspections and report equipment issues or defects to managementMaintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environmentFollow all company safety procedures and warehouse protocols at all timesEnsure shelves, pallets, and workstations remain tidy and free from hazardsWhat You BringProof of eligibility to work in the U.S. (e.g., Social Security card, passport, or other acceptable I‐9 documents)High school diploma or equivalent preferredKnowledge of warehouse operations and good warehousing practicesAbility to read and perform basic math functions, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and divisionAbility to work independently and manage assigned tasks efficientlyAbility to frequently lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift up to 70 poundsAbility to operate a forklift and obtain forklift certification successfullyStrong verbal and written communication skillsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to stand for extended periods of timeBasic computer skills preferred, particularly for shipping and receiving responsibilitiesWorking ConditionsPrimarily warehouse-based role involving physical labor and operation of warehouse equipmentFrequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and material handling throughout the workdayExposure to varying warehouse temperatures and conditionsStandard workweek applies, though overtime may be required during peak operational periodsUse of PPE is required where appropriateOperation of forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment requiredBenefits We OfferPPO Medical & Dental PlansVision InsuranceCompany-Paid Basic Life & AD&DVoluntary Life & AD&DShort- and Long-Term DisabilityFlexible Spending Accounts (FSA) for Health & Dependent CareGenerous 401(k) with Company MatchWhy Work With UsFormed through the combination of PSS Industrial Group and Cross Country Infrastructure Services, PSS Cross Country Infrastructure Solutions unites deep product application knowledge, national distribution strength, and equipment rental expertise across more than 40 locations nationwide.
