Certified Nursing Assistant
Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care across various settings, including long-term care, assisted living, hospitals, and outpatient clinics. This role requires a strong commitment to patient safety, comfort, and dignity, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations such as seniors, individuals with developmental disabilities, and those requiring specialized care like Alzheimer’s or dementia care. Experience with EMR/EHR systems and medical documentation is preferred. The CNA will play a vital role in supporting clinical staff by performing essential nursing tasks and ensuring a safe, clean, and respectful environment for all patients.
Responsibilities
Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts.
Monitor and record vital signs accurately using medical terminology and physiology knowledge.
Support medication administration under supervision, adhering to HIPAA regulations and aseptic techniques.
Document patient information precisely in EMR/EHR systems like Cerner or eClinicalWorks.
Provide specialized care for patients with conditions such as Alzheimer’s disease, dementia, or behavioral health needs.
Assist with catheter care, wound care, and other medical-surgical procedures as directed by nursing staff.
Support patients in memory care units or during post-acute recovery phases in sub-acute or home & community care settings.
Participate in patient safety protocols including infection control practices for infectious disease care and ICU or trauma center environments.
Collaborate effectively within multidisciplinary teams in various healthcare settings including hospitals (Level I & II trauma centers), outpatient clinics, or hospice care facilities.
Educate patients and families on health management plans when appropriate.
Requirements
Valid CNA certification with current licensure in the state of employment.
Experience working in diverse healthcare environments such as hospitals (including ICU, PICU, OR), nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home care is highly desirable.
Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems like Epic or Cerner; experience with medical documentation and medical terminology is preferred.
Knowledge of infection control practices including aseptic technique and basic life support certification.
Ability to work effectively with patients who have complex needs such as developmental disabilities or behavioral health conditions.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.
Flexibility to work various shifts including long-term care or acute care settings; prior experience in emergency medicine or urgent care is a plus.
Demonstrated compassion for working with vulnerable populations including pediatrics, geriatrics, or patients with disabilities. Pay: $17.00 - $21.00 per hour
