Job Overview As a Playcafe crew member, you will play a vital role in creating a safe, engaging, and enjoyable environment for children. This position involves supervising play activities, assisting with food preparation and service, and ensuring that all health and safety standards are met. You will work closely with children to foster their creativity and social skills while promoting a positive atmosphere. Your main role will be creating under the sea food delights and treats in the cafe. All employees must be flexible and will be responsible for filling in for alternative roles! Responsibilities Supervise and engage with children during playtime to ensure their safety and well-being. Preparation and serving of food, adhering to food safety guidelines. Operate cashless registers and handle transactions accurately using Toast POS or similar systems. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, ensuring compliance with food handling standards. Support children in developing social skills through cooperative play and structured activities. Monitor children's behavior, providing guidance and support as needed to promote positive interactions. Collaborate with other staff members to plan and implement fun activities. Skills Knowledge of food safety practices and food handling techniques. Basic math skills for handling transactions accurately. Experience in food preparation is an asset. Familiarity with cashless register operations, particularly Toast POS systems. Strong time management skills to efficiently manage multiple tasks during busy periods. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also being able to help children individually when needed. A passion for working with children and fostering a positive play experience.
