DescriptionReview project plans and specifications to identify required scopes of work and compile quantity take-offs. Solicit subcontractor and supplier proposals, verify participation and build long-term relationships to support accurate and competitive bids. Provide constructability reviews and potential cost reduction measures. Prepare and review Owner proposals, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project requirements and objectives. Identify and communicate project risks and opportunities to support the team and assist in informed decision-making. Develop and maintain bid spreadsheets to compile and organize data for use in cost estimates. Provide input on risk management and quality control improvements in Estimating. Collaborate with estimating, operations, design, and business development teams, and support or lead preconstruction meetings, estimate presentations, and project turnovers. Ensure proper documentation of preconstruction communications (submittals, RFIs, etc.). Research and stay informed on current construction materials, methods, and industry trends to support accurate preconstruction planning. Proficient in interpreting and analyzing complex data, construction plans, drawings, and specifications. Strong understanding of common construction and estimating principles and practices. Strong attention to detail with a focus on ensuring consistency and completeness of estimates. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Desire to work collaboratively in a team environment. Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking abilities. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (with an emphasis on Excel), On-Screen Take-Off, Bluebeam, or similar preconstruction software.
