The candidate will have the opportunity to grow and learn with talented engineers, physicists, and technicians on long-standing programs and new programs supporting our customers.The Production Planner will support manufacturing operations through effective production scheduling, inventory control, and cross-functional coordination. The ideal candidate will have experience in a manufacturing environment, strong ERP/MRP system knowledge, and the ability to optimize production workflows to meet customer demand while maintaining efficiency and quality standards.Core Responsibilities:Develop, maintain, and adjust detailed production schedules to support customer demand and operational efficiencyCoordinate with procurement, manufacturing, and inventory teams to ensure material availability and timely product deliveryUtilize ERP/MRP systems to plan production requirements, track orders, and manage workflowAnalyze production data, inventory trends, and operational metrics to identify bottlenecks and implement process improvementsCollaborate with production supervisors and management to resolve scheduling conflicts and operational disruptionsEnsure compliance with company safety policies, quality standards, and manufacturing proceduresPrepare reports and communicate production status, delays, and performance metrics to leadershipSupport continuous improvement initiatives focused on cost savings, productivity, and efficiency enhancementRequirements:Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Engineering, or a related field (relevant job experience may be considered in lieu of degree)5 – 7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment with a focus on: Production schedulingSupply chain coordinationLogistics or operations planningProficiency with ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, Oracle, Cost Point, or similar platformsAdvanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Microsoft ExcelStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesExperience with inventory planning and production forecastingUS Citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain DoD/DoW security clearanceMay require Moderate physical effort, including standing, sitting, and use of hands while performing duties, and carrying or lifting up to 40 poundsWorking environment is indoor, moderately loud, reasonably clean, well-lit, and well-ventilated; moderate physical hazards may existPreferred Qualifications:8 – 10 years of relevant experienceActive DoD Secret or Top Secret clearanceAPICS Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) preferredSARA offers a competitive benefits package to include:Medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance; and other supplemental programsA generous PTO program (vacation, sick, holiday)Tuition & certification reimbursementFlexible work schedulesDiscretionary Employee bonuses401(k) match/profit sharingEmployee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)Pay RangeSalary at SARA is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $26 to $35 (hourly USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of SARA's total compensation package for employees.
