Software Engineering Manager

We're hiring on behalf of a Haystack partner!The Role• Lead and mentor a team of compiler engineers focused on developing and deploying a new compiler for custom hardware.• Drive the technical direction and roadmap for the NKI compiler, ensuring alignment with senior engineers and product strategy.• Own the execution and delivery of NKI compiler features, balancing scope, quality, and timelines across release cycles.• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including frameworks, kernel development, runtime, hardware design, and product management, to bring new features to market.• Resolve complex technical issues, providing guidance and staying close to the code and hardware.• Represent the team's work and priorities to senior leadership and stakeholders, anchoring decisions in customer impact.What You'll Need• 2+ years of experience in engineering team management.• 6+ years of direct experience working within engineering teams.• 4+ years of experience in designing or architecting new and existing systems, including design patterns, reliability, and scaling.• Experience partnering with product or program management teams.• Understanding of compilers, including resource management, instruction scheduling, code generation, and compute graph optimization.• Strong software design fundamentals and excellent system-level coding skills.What's On Offer• Competitive annual salary ($212,700 - $287,700 USD) plus potential for sign-on bonuses and restricted stock units.• Comprehensive benefits package including health insurance, 401(k) matching, paid time off, and parental leave.• Opportunities for mentorship and career growth within a dynamic and innovative team.• A culture that values work-life balance and fosters an inclusive environment.Apply via Haystack today!
