Senior Data EngineerPosition OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer with Application DBA expertise to design, build, optimize, and support enterprise data platforms. This role combines advanced data engineering with hands-on database administration, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability of critical data systems.The ideal candidate brings deep experience in data warehousing, ETL development, database management, and modern cloud data platforms.Key ResponsibilitiesApplication DBAAdminister, monitor, and optimize Oracle databases supporting enterprise applications.Perform database performance tuning, including query optimization, indexing, partitioning, and execution plan analysis.Manage database maintenance activities such as backups, recovery, patching, and upgrades.Ensure database availability, disaster recovery, and data integrity.Support application teams with database design, troubleshooting, and performance improvements.Data Engineering & ArchitectureDesign and maintain dimensional and normalized data models for analytics and reporting.Build, enhance, and optimize enterprise data warehouse solutions using Oracle and Snowflake.Develop scalable ETL/data pipelines using Informatica and Python.Integrate structured and unstructured data from multiple data sources.Reporting & AnalyticsSupport and maintain Oracle Analytics Server reporting environments.Collaborate with BI and analytics teams to ensure data accuracy and reporting performance.Optimize database structures for efficient reporting and analytics.Cloud & Modern Data PlatformsDevelop and maintain Snowflake data warehouse solutions.Implement best practices for cloud data architecture, performance tuning, and cost optimization.Work with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB for semi-structured and unstructured data.Development & AutomationDevelop scalable solutions using Python and SQL.Automate data workflows, monitoring, and alerting processes.Implement CI/CD practices for data pipelines and database deployments.Data Governance & QualityEnsure data quality, consistency, security, and compliance.Implement data validation, cleansing, and lineage processes.Follow enterprise data governance standards and best practices.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent experience).7+ years of experience in Data Engineering and Database Administration.Required Technical SkillsOracle Database (Application DBA)Informatica (ETL Development)Data WarehousingSnowflakeOracle Analytics ServerPythonAdvanced SQL (Query Optimization & Performance Tuning)MongoDB or other NoSQL databasesPreferred SkillsCloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)dbtApache AirflowDevOps and CI/CDOLTP systemsData GovernanceData Security FrameworksKey CompetenciesStrong analytical and problem-solving skills.Experience balancing development and operational DBA responsibilities.Excellent communication and collaboration skills.Detail-oriented with a focus on performance, reliability, and scalability.Proactive in identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving system bottlenecks.
