Position Type:Transportation/Transportation Mechanic Date Posted:3/16/2026 Location:Transportation Department Closing Date:Until Filled POSITION:TRANSPORTATION MECHANICRESPONSIBILITIES: Maintain and provide a safe and reliable bus fleet. This includes emergency repairs, regular and periodic inspections, and maintenance procedures to reduce the frequency of repairs and lower operational and maintenance costs. QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum applicable experience as determined by the Board of Education. Ability to work cooperatively with other school staff. Demonstrated knowledge of school bus repair and preventive maintenance. Awareness of ASE School Bus Certification with a commitment to become certified within 24 months. Must possess and maintain a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with passenger endorsement and air brake certification. Must be willing to operate a school bus as needed to support transportation operations (On-Site Training is available to acquire CDL) Ability to do repairs under the guidance of the Chief Mechanic. Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status in accordance with State and Federal regulations.
