Manager, EHSS
Overview
In this role you lead site Environmental, Health, Safety and Security initiatives to meet and exceed site and company goals. You drive a culture of EHSS excellence through proactive compliance and improvement programs. You will advise, align with cross-functional teams, and guide the site toward regulatory and safety best practices. The position offers visibility across leadership and a chance to shape the EHSS program and talent development.

ResponsibilitiesLead compliance and improvement projects across QMS, safety, environment and security systemsServe as EHSS SME, interpreting regulations for site guidanceContribute to annual goals as part of Plant Leadership TeamEnsure local regulatory compliance and implement policies, procedures, training, and monitoringDrive Continuous Improvement within EHSS via site Hoshin Plan initiativesDevelop and manage EHSS budget for safety equipment and testing servicesFoster talent development and inclusive safety cultureCollaborate with Operations, Quality, HR, IT, Engineering, Legal, R&D, FinanceOversee EHSS reporting and KPI tracking; manage EHSS staff or supportsCoordinate external audits and site visits; support management of changeLead safety engagement activities and incident investigationsOrganize EHSS committees, ER team, and cross-functional projectsSupport Medical Services and regulatory injury reporting as requiredAttend production and KPI reviews to monitor EHSS statusProvide guidance on new processes, equipment, or chemicals to maintain safety
Key requirementsBachelor’s degree in EHSS, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering or related discipline7–10 years in a manufacturing environment with 4 years in a managerial capacityAbility to influence across departments and foster engagement in EHSS initiativesKnowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, IATA, IHSAs and regional regulations; lasers, radiation, process safety, permitting and ergonomicsISO 14001, ISO 45001 implementation experience; collaboration toward ISO 13485Certifications such as CSP or CIH; First Aid/CPR/AED preferredStrong planning, budgeting, and project delivery skillsCalm, collaborative leadership with emotional intelligenceStrong communication and cross-functional collaborationExperience with management of change and incident investigationsInfluence and mentorshipCross-functional collaborationEmotional intelligenceEHSS regulatory interpretationISO 14001/45001 and ISO 13485 implementationRegulatory reporting and incident investigation
