Your internship experience will have you working under the direct supervision of design engineers to develop skills in report preparation, design, construction, and/or client management. With an emphasis on personal/career development, talented students looking to grow both personally and professionally are encouraged to apply!ResponsibilitiesDevelop skills in report preparation, design, construction, and client managementPerform construction observation and site reports on water related projectsPerform data gathering for designs, boundaries, topography, GIS data collection, and/or geodetic controlAssist in the design and construction of pipelines, water storage tanks, pump stations, treatment systems, rural water and/or municipal facilitiesWork alongside professional surveyors to assist with data gathering for designs or perform construction stakingIdeal QualificationsEnrolled in a civil engineering, surveying, or related programCompletion of at least one semester towards a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, surveying, or related field preferredFamiliarity with AutoCAD/Civil 3D a preferredPrevious coursework or experience in water, wastewater, rural water, or heavy construction projects preferredAbility to multi-task, take initiative, and adapt to changes with easeMinimum GPA of 3.0Ability to travel as requiredAll applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulationsPhysical Ability to walk up to 3-miles on uneven terrainAbility to work in adverse weather conditionsAbility to stand or sit for prolonged periods of timeOccasionally climb, stoop, bend, kneel, crouch, reach, and twistOccasionally lift, carry, push, and pull light to moderate amounts of weightMay require lifting and carrying up to 20 pounds, with rare lifting of up to 50 poundsAbility to inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
