Join a team committed to compassion, innovation, and professional growth in the heart of Orlando, Florida.Role DescriptionThis is a full-time, on-site role for a Telephone Triage Registered Nurse (RN) at UCF Health in Orlando, FL. The Telephone Triage RN will be responsible for managing patient phone inquiries, conducting triage assessments, providing medical advice and recommendations, and coordinating appropriate care. The role requires accurate documentation of interactions in medical records and collaboration with physicians and other healthcare team members to ensure high-quality patient care. The RN will also play a critical role in educating patients and addressing their immediate healthcare concerns over the phone.Responsibilities and Duties:Assumes the responsibility for interviewing the patients to gather information and assign triage priority.Answers incoming calls. Listen and asks questions.Triages needs of patient.Assigns a triage priority based on the findings of the interview.Communicates with physicians, nurses, and other members of the care team about patients’ statuses.Documents voicemail and return calls within set timeframes.Maintains a professional, friendly, and helpful relationship with all patients and co-workers.Observes all Clinic policies and guidelines.Administrative DutiesAnswers telephonesSchedules appointments, when appropriateUpdates patient health information systems with notesUses computer applications.QualificationsBackground in Medicine, with current RN licensure and comprehensive nursing expertiseProficiency in Telephone Triage, including assessing patient needs and providing appropriate guidanceExperience in Triage and Nursing with a strong ability to prioritize careKnowledge of Medical Records management and familiarity with electronic health record systemsExcellent communication and problem-solving skillsCommitment to patient-centered care and confidentiality in handling sensitive informationCertification in Basic Life Support (BLS); additional certifications (e.g., ACLS) are a plusExperience in a clinical setting, preferably in primary care, urgent care, or a specialty clinicStrong ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environmentWork Experience2+ years in a clinical settingWork is closely supervised.Certification/LicenseCurrent RN Florida LicenseAnnual CPR, OSHA, HIPPA training/certifications.Other certifications as required.
