Daytime Plant Manager (Custodian) 2025-2026 - Lebanon Junction Elementary

This position is for the 2025-2026 school year.NOTICE OF POSSIBLE WAIVER: Per KRS 160.380, to expedite the hiring for this position, the district may apply for a waiver to prevent disruption of necessary instructional or support services. Lebanon Junction Elementary School is looking for an energetic, organized and motivated person to maintain the cleanliness of our school community. This person will perform routine custodial activities at LJES and maintain building and adjacent grounds areas in a clean, orderly and secure condition. Hours are 7am-3:30pm (which includes a 30 minute unpaid lunch).Candidates should have knowledge of:Basic methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in custodial work and routine maintenance.Proper methods of storing equipment, materials and supplies.Proper lifting techniques.Candidates should have the ability to:Perform routine custodial activities at an assigned school site or facility to maintain buildings, locker rooms and adjacent grounds areas in a clean, orderly and secure condition.Use cleaning materials, equipment and methods according to pre-determined standards.Learn and apply knowledge of the schedules, procedures and use of equipment and supplies used in custodial work.Learn appropriate safety precautions and procedures.Maintain tools and equipment signed in clean working order and provide proper security.Perform minor non-technical repairs.Observe and report need for maintenance and repair.Perform heavy physical labor.Understand and follow oral and written directions.Meet schedules and time lines.Communicate effectively with others.Inspect and assure the security of facilities.Communicate effectively both orally and in writing.Walk, bend, lift, push and stand for extended periods of time.Position Details Hours: 8 hours per day (plus a 30-minute unpaid lunch)Contract Length: 261 days per year Contract Adjustments: Contracted days will be prorated based on the start dateEmployment StatusFull-time with benefitsEmployment Type: 12-month employee on the classified pay scheduleQualifications & RequirementsEducation:High school diploma or GEDDocumentation: Candidates must provide proof of educational requirements to HR upon recommendation for hire.2025-2026 Pay ScaleStarting Pay (Step 0): $17.13/hour Experienced Pay (Step 10): $20.85/hourWe value experience! Previous experience working with students, intervention systems, and small-group instruction is strongly desired.New hires may bring up to 10 years of comparable, full-time, verified experience.The hired applicant is responsible for submitting the BCPS Verification of Experience Form to prior employers for completion and return to HR.Payroll Note: While this is an hourly position, the salary is distributed via a year-long contract over 10 months. You will receive 4 paychecks at the end of June.Salary Formula: Hours per day × Hourly rate = Daily rate Daily rate × Contracted days = Annual salary.
