Network Implementation Engineer

Pico is currently seeking Design and Implementation engineering candidates to deliver best in class low latency connectivity solutions for Pico's clients and internal infrastructure projects in line with Pico's standards and strategic framework. Playing a key role in working with other teams within the business, the Network Implementation Engineer will be a proactive, solutions-oriented engineer with highly developed organization and attention to detail skills. This individual will be responsible for working with our Service Operations (NOC) Team to ensure that all escalations are dealt with in a timely and effective manner, transferring knowledge and building skills among Service Operations Team.Responsibilities and duties (include but not limited to)Design, deploy, and escalate problem resolution, for a large service provider network infrastructurePerform daily checkouts of the environment and following any changesConstruct valid configurations for implementation based upon design and/or technical conceptsSupport deployment and maintenance of Firewalls, network switches, routers, and other network appliancesApplication of configuration changes via our change control systems and processes Perform peer review of configurations scheduled for deploymentPerform network infrastructure changes in a diligent and professional manner Participate in on-call rotation for support escalationsTroubleshoot internal and external customer issues related to changes Participate in daily meetings to review changes and under lying impactsWork with network engineering team to design new client specific connectivity solutions Provide mentoring and guidance to other team members when requiredEducation, Skills and background (incl. Education and Experience Requirements)10-14 years' experience deploying and supporting Firewall and Network equipment in a service provider environment or a large-scale Enterprise networkExperience with Fortinet, Cisco ASA, Arista, and Nexus hardware and softwareStrong knowledge of IPSec VPN, NAT and managing firewall policyHighly proficient in routing protocols: BGPKnowledge of TCP, UDP and upper layer protocolsMulticast experience will be preferredExperience with cross-connectivity to high-speed, ultra-low latency financial markets and venuesFamiliarity with Ansible, Linux, PythonAbility to analyze and diagnose problems and effectively lead to system recovery Clear verbal and written communicatorDiligent and highly detail orientatedSelf-motivated and capable of prioritizing and managing own workload Capable of working with little supervisionCreative thinker with out of the box ideasKeen to contribute ideas, share knowledge, and help others develop Interested in cutting edge technologyDriven to develop own skills and knowledge Understanding of JIRA as a ticketing system
