Primary Nurse Practitioner

Primary Care Nurse Practitioner needed at a top facility in Bronx, New York! -This is an onsite position, no remote option. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Takes histories, performs physical examinations, gives immunizations (as necessary) and does patient education and counseling. Orders appropriate lab work, draws blood for lab work if needed, and performs some lab tests such as wet prep microscopic exams. Prescribes treatment for minor illnesses, and consults with physician regarding medication, chronic illness and referrals when appropriate. Maintains legible and appropriate documentation and reviews records periodically. Does follow-up of abnormal pap smears and reportable STD s. Attends case conferences involving patients. Attends provider meetings and participates in quality improvement programs and team assignments. Identifies and categorizes each patient s age-specific grouping of needs, such as those infants, adolescent, or geriatric patients. And more! Schedule is full-time and permanent day shift position. Requirements: M.S. degree. Prior experience working as a NP. Valid license as a Nurse Practitioner in New York State. Bilingual in both English and Spanish (orally and written) preferred.
