Technical Project ManagerLocation US HeadquartersType Full timeDepartment EngineeringJob Summary:We are seeking a Technical Project Manager to oversee technology development projects related to satellites and their wireless payloads. This role will be responsible for developing and managing assigned technology development projects from inception to completion, guiding and enabling the future path along the Technology Roadmap. This position requires an entrepreneurial individual who drives and assists in the pursuit of technology development efforts across the organization.Managing technical projects in this role requires familiarity with wireless communications and/or spacecraft technologies, such as spacecraft attitude determination and control system components, modern communications signals and protocols, RF system optimization, COTS component integration, and software and hardware development. The effective candidate will excel equally in informing/architecting the future and setting the necessary project plan for the execution of strategically significant efforts across multi-functional teams.Core Responsibilities:The Technical Project Manager will manage technical projects across spacecraft and wireless communication domains. Specific activities include:Manage multiple projects that span from concept generation through product realization for new technology development efforts in the wireless communications and/or space domains.Coordinate with project sponsors and key senior team members in defining and budgeting for new technology development efforts.Work with technology leads to define projects at the task level including task definition, duration, and relationship to other tasks, as well as resource loading projects to create measurable schedules.Understand, manage, and take ownership of cost, schedule, and technical performance and risks associated with assigned efforts.Act as the primary interface to project sponsors, key senior team members, and other stakeholders on project status and performance.Interact regularly with suppliers/subcontractors related to technology development projects.Qualifications:A Bachelor’s Degree (or better) in science, engineering, or relevant technical field from an accredited university; a Master's Degree in a relevant technical field is preferred.10+ years of industry experience, including 3+ years in a Technical Project Management role.Demonstrated experience as a Technical Lead and/or Project Manager working in the wireless communications and/or space domains is a plus.Exposure to government programs and a current active security clearance is a plus.Knowledge and understanding of processes, tools, and metrics essential for project monitoring and control and risk management.Experience transitioning technologies from a design concept to a functioning product is a plus.
