About The RoleThis is an engineering project management role within the Logistics, Test, and Evaluation (LT&E) organization. The Logistics Project Engineering (LPE) lead manages projects relating to Army wheeled and tracked vehicle Technical Manuals (TMs), Logistics Engineering, Reliability Engineering, Training, and Test Support.Company InformationGeneral Dynamics is a successful Fortune 100, global aerospace and defense company, with over 90,000 employees world-wide. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off).On-going learning opportunities within a diverse, inclusive and rewarding work environment.Onsite Cafeteria, remodeled with new equipment Fitness Center, and Outdoor fitness track.Responsibilities To Anticipate For This RoleManage scope, schedule, and budget of Logistics projects, specifically Army Technical ManualsCommunicate with project team and internal stakeholders, including engineering and program officeCommunicate with customer, representing GDLS in meetings and milestone reviewsOversee bids and proposals, providing guidance to the LT&E estimating teamsMonitor project performance, including schedule and budget metrics and resource allocationsInterface with engineering to understand the technical details of tracked/wheeled vehicle projectsLead problem solving efforts to address project issues and risksQualifications SoughtBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Logistics, or Business required (alternative degrees will be considered with applicable experience)7-10 years of experience in Defense industry or related Military serviceExcellent written and verbal communication skillsComfortable leading meetings and project teamsExperience managing schedules and budgetsStrong decision-making skillsWorking knowledge of Army vehicle platformsMilitary experience in Logistics a plusExperience writing or validating Technical Manuals a plus
