Special Education Teacher - Addison, IL

Job Description Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.An exciting opportunity awaits an experienced special education professional to support 7th-grade learners for the upcoming school year. This contract position begins with institute days, allowing for valuable planning and collaboration before students arrive on August 17th. The assignment continues through early November 2026, providing long-term consistency for students and staff.In this role, you'll deliver both facilitated (co-taught) and instructional (self-contained) math for students who are generally performing a year or more below grade level. The curriculum is grade-level, but thoughtfully accommodated and modified to meet each learner's needs. You'll work closely with a diverse mix of students, primarily with Specific Learning Disabilities (SLD) and Other Health Impairments (OHI), with a caseload projected between 16-18.Qualifications and Experience:Valid Special Education teaching credentials requiredExperience with middle school learners and knowledge of diverse learning profilesStrong foundation in math content and intervention strategiesConfidence in adapting and modifying grade-level curriculumCollaborative mindset for co-teaching and working with multidisciplinary teamsCommitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom environmentEffective communication with parents, staff, and administratorsRole Responsibilities:Teach math using both co-taught and instructional approachesAccommodate and modify lessons to support individual learning plansProgress monitor and document student growthParticipate in IEP meetings and ongoing collaboration with staffPromote active engagement and advocacy for all studentsMaintain regular communication with familiesStaff hours run from 7:30 AM to 2:50 PM, promoting work-life balance while supporting student success.
