Clinical Laboratory Operations Manager - Chemistry & Hematology
JOB SUMMARY:The Manager, Laboratory ( Special Chemistry, Auto Chemistry, and Hematology Lab) will be responsible for managing the core laboratory. The Manager assesses compliance with applicable State and Federal laws, adheres to CAP guidelines and Quality Assurance standards. The Laboratory Manager will adhere to corporate standard policies and procedures related to job performance, customer interactions, teammate relations, and information confidentiality. This position may be either licensed or non-licensed, and may work a designated shift to include days, evenings, or nights. This position will report to the Sr. Director/Director of Laboratory Operations or Sr. Manager, Lab. This position will cover our night shift teammates for both the Hematology and Chemistry departments, leading the team from a Laboratory Operations perspective.OFFICE SCHEDULE - TUESDAY - FRIDAY 5 PM - 3 AM WITH ONE WORKING SATURDAY EVERY 12-13 WEEKS ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Plans, organizes, and supervises teammates to ensure high-quality teammate customer serviceManages all teammate employment activity such as hiring, promoting, job performance evaluations, and disciplinary actions with appropriate approvals as requiredProvides work direction for department teammatesDetermines staffing plans that promote the most effective use of all teammates; ensures coverage during teammate absencesResponsible for the accuracy and promptness of test results and reporting of test results in the service linepplies clinical theoretical knowledge and scientific methods in problem-solvingMonitors workflow and delegates responsibilities to team membersCollaborates in the laboratory quality improvement program, including performance and evaluation of key laboratory outcome indicators, including financial metrics (including but not limited to budgets, operating and capital, P&L, internal projects) by monthly review of departmental expendituresEvaluates regulatory and certification requirements, ensuring that the section is inspection-readyFollows established Standard Operating Procedures to meet and exceed regulatory and accrediting agencies' requirements EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:Bachelor's Degree required6 years of Clinical Laboratory experience - preferred.6 years of Healthcare Operations experience - required.Current Florida license as a Supervisor in Special Chemistry, Auto Chemistry, and Hematology, and certified by a professional laboratory certifying agency, e.g., ASCP or eligible - preferred HERE IS WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT WHEN YOU JOIN:"community first, company second " culture based on Core Values that really matter.Clinical outcomes consistently ranked above the national average.ward-winning education and training across multiple career paths to help you reach your potential.Performance-based rewards based on stellar individual and team contributions.comprehensive benefits package designed to enhance your health, your financial well-being, and your future.Dedication, above all, to caring for patients suffering from chronic kidney failure across the nation.
