DC engineer

Job Description On-demand position available for a Data Center Operations Technician to perform cable connectivity, equipment installation, and troubleshooting in a live data center environment. Responsibilities Install, test, and maintain network cabling, IT equipment racks, and power connections. Troubleshoot cable, server, switch, firewall, and router connections. Execute patching and remote hands tasks and coordinate with remote engineers during troubleshooting. Create and execute work tickets independently during second shift (6–10 pm) and on required weekends. Lift and rack server equipment while ensuring safety and proper handling. Qualifications 2–10 years of experience in data center operations, cable installation, or a related field. Proficiency with fiber optic and Ethernet cable circuit extension. Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for travel to sites in Northern NJ. Ability to work independently, communicate clearly, and maintain detailed documentation of troubleshooting efforts. Willingness to work evenings (second shift) and occasional weekends. Positive attitude, reliability, and punctuality are required. Attention to detail and flexibility for short-notice assignments.
