Controller Programmer

*Overview* We are seeking an experienced Industrial Controls Programmer to join our team in the Baltimore, MD area. This is a hands-on controls programming role supporting the design, development, and implementation of industrial control systems for process wastewater treatment applications. The ideal candidate will have strong experience programming Allen-Bradley PLCs, the ability to read and interpret industrial control specifications, and a solid understanding of industrial automation systems. This position is ideal for a controls professional who enjoys hands-on programming and would like the opportunity to grow into additional responsibility within the controls function. This is a direct-hire, onsite position with limited travel and no overtime. Salary: $90,000–$120,000 per year *Duties* * Program, modify, troubleshoot, and maintain industrial control systems. * Develop and support PLC programs for industrial equipment and process applications. * Program and troubleshoot *Allen-Bradley PLC systems*. * Review, interpret, and evaluate industrial control specifications. * Determine programming, PLC, HMI, and controls requirements based on project specifications. * Assist with the development and implementation of control system solutions. * Troubleshoot controls issues and support equipment startup and commissioning as needed. * Collaborate with engineering, production, electrical, and other internal teams on controls requirements. * Review control system documentation, drawings, and specifications to ensure programming requirements are understood and met. * Support continuous improvement of programming practices, controls systems, and department processes. * Work with other members of the controls team to ensure projects are completed accurately and efficiently. * Take on additional technical or leadership responsibilities as experience and interest develop. *Requirements* * Minimum of *5 years of experience in industrial controls*. * Minimum of *2 years of hands-on PLC programming experience*. * Minimum of *2 years of experience reviewing and interpreting industrial control specifications*. * Demonstrated experience as a hands-on *Controls Programmer, Controls Engineer, PLC Programmer, or similar role*. * Strong experience programming and troubleshooting *Allen-Bradley PLCs*. * Ability to read, understand, and evaluate industrial control specifications. * Solid understanding of industrial automation and control systems. * Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. * Ability to work effectively in an onsite, collaborative environment. * Must be able to work onsite in the *Baltimore, MD area*. * Must be authorized to work in the United States. *Preferred Qualifications* * Experience with *Unitronics* PLC platforms a plus * Experience with HMI programming and industrial communication networks. * Experience with equipment startup, commissioning, or field troubleshooting. * Experience in water/wastewater, process equipment, industrial manufacturing, OEM, or systems integration environments a plus * Interest in eventually taking on additional controls leadership responsibilities. *Education* No specific degree is required.
