*Title: *Senior Python Backend PDF Generation Developer *Location:* Austin, TX (Hybrid- Minimum 3 days onsite per week) *Duration*: 7+Months *Client*: Texas Department of Transportation *Responsibilities* TxDOT is seeking three experienced Senior Python Developers to support the development of a production-ready PDF Generator platform. The solution will generate complex business and legal documents used in TxDOT''''''''s letting and contract execution processes, including: * Proposals * Contracts * Addenda * Letters * Other structured and dynamically generated PDF documents The selected developers will design, develop, integrate, test, and deploy scalable backend document-generation services. *Important:* Candidates must have a minimum of 5+ years of relevant development experience and be able to work onsite at TxDOT Headquarters on Stassney in Austin, Texas, at least 3 days per week throughout the engagement. *Required Skills* Candidates must have: * 5+ years of professional software development experience. * Strong hands-on Python backend development experience. * Experience developing or maintaining backend document-generation services. * Experience developing REST APIs using FastAPI or similar Python frameworks. * Strong understanding of async/await programming patterns. * Experience integrating applications with enterprise data and storage systems. * Experience building scalable, production-quality backend applications. * Experience with automated testing, source control, CI/CD, and containerized deployments. * *Claude Certified Architect – Foundations* * *Claude Certified Architect – Professional* *Ideal Candidate Profile* The ideal candidate is a *Senior Python Backend Developer with direct enterprise document or PDF-generation experience*, rather than a general-purpose Python developer. A strong profile would demonstrate: *Python + FastAPI + Async/Await + PDF Generation + Enterprise Integration + OAuth2/JWT + Docker + CI/CD* Experience with *ReportLab, WeasyPrint, Jinja2, PyPDF2, LibreOffice Headless, AWS, Azure DevOps, and complex PDF formatting* will be particularly valuable.
