Dispatcher

Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Dispatcher to coordinate transportation operations within our logistics and supply chain network. The ideal candidate will manage freight movements, optimize routes, and ensure timely delivery using advanced transportation management systems. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where communication, analysis skills, and technical proficiency are essential for success. Responsibilities Coordinate and schedule freight shipments using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine. Utilize GIS and GPS technologies to plan efficient routes and monitor vehicle locations in real-time. Manage dispatching activities for fleet management, including tracking deliveries, adjusting schedules, and resolving logistical issues promptly. Maintain accurate data entry related to shipping & receiving, freight documentation, and shipment statuses through systems like AS400 and 3PL platforms. Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, vendors, and internal teams via multi-line phone systems, ensuring clear and professional phone etiquette. Oversee shipping & receiving operations, ensuring compliance with safety standards and company policies. Analyze transportation data to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements within the supply chain. Support transportation planning efforts by providing analysis skills to optimize routes and reduce costs. Requirements Proven experience with transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or similar platforms. Strong knowledge of GIS, GPS technology, and logistics principles including freight management and fleet coordination. Familiarity with supply chain processes, transportation planning, shipping & receiving procedures, and 3PL operations. Excellent communication skills with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems professionally. Proficiency in data entry, typing accuracy, and managing transportation data using AS400 or similar systems like SyteLine. Strong analysis skills to interpret logistics data and improve dispatching efficiency. Experience with freight coordination, shipping & receiving processes, and fleet management is preferred. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
