This role supports both RF communications systems (including Motorola and Kenwood platforms) and fiber optic plant operations (inside and outside plant). The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise in RF systems, fiber networking, and IP-based communications, along with a commitment to safety, quality, and customer service. This position requires the ability to work independently or as part of a team in office, field, and outdoor environments.Candidate must be able to reliably commute to Grand Teton National Park or Yellowstone National Park within one hour. Essential Functions:RF Systems & CommunicationsInstall, program, align, and maintain Motorola and Kenwood two-way radio systems, repeaters, and accessoriesDiagnose and repair RF, audio, and network-related issues in mobile and base station radiosConduct bench and field-testing using service monitors, spectrum analyzers, and other RF diagnostic toolsConfigure, test, and troubleshoot radio programming software and network interfacesSupport firmware updates, system upgrades, and integration with IP-based networksEnsure compliance with FCC regulations and company safety standardsProvide technical support and guidance to customers and field personnelFiber Optic & Network OperationsPerform inside and outside fiber optic plant installation, including Cat 6 cablingAnalyze, troubleshoot and resolve fiber optic network anomaliesConduct fiber testing, maintenance, splicing, replacement, and underground cable locatingInstall, configure, provision, and implement telecommunications and infrastructure equipmentSupport Layer 1 and Layer 2 networking operationsCoordinate with contractors, service providers, and local utilitiesSafety, Quality & ComplianceEnsure compliance with company and site-specific safety requirementsMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environmentMaintain accurate service documentation, reports, inventory records, and work ordersPerform general site maintenance (painting, cleaning, inspections, weed control, etc.)Respond to emergency network outages within required timeframesOtherEmployees must be able to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, in accordance with company policy and applicable lawsPerform additional duties as assignedRequirementsRequired Skills and Qualifications:Minimum three years of experience in telecommunications, RF, or fiber environments operationsAssociate degree or technical school equivalent (or equivalent experience)Experience with Motorola CPS/RSS and Kenwood, or similar platformsExperience with analog and digital radio systems (P25, DMR, NXDN, etc.)Strong understanding of RF theory, antenna systems, and RF test equipmentBasic understanding of IP networking and telecom infrastructureAbility to read and interpret construction drawings and specificationsStrong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)Excellent troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skillsPreferred Skills and Qualifications:Two years of radio/communications technician experience (public safety, LMR, or similar), and two years of fiber optic installation or construction experienceFCC General Radiotelephone Operator License (GROL)Cisco network training or certificationAdtran Total Access trainingExperience with dispatch consoles, microwave systems, or IP-based communication systemsKnowledge of FCC licensing and frequency coordination proceduresExperience supporting public safety communication systemsWork Environment/Physical Demands:Ability to climb ladders (over 6 feet) and work at various heightsAbility to lift a minimum of 50 lbsValid driver's license and ability to travel as required (approximately 50-75%)Must be able to reliably commute to Grand Teton National Park or Yellowstone National Park within one hourAbility to obtain required certifications post-hire as required for the roleAbility to pass and maintain compliance with federal background check and drug-free workplace requirementsAvailability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and respond to emergency outages within 4 hours when requiredWork performed both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditionsExposure to construction sites, telecom facilities, rooftops, and confined spacesBenefitsWhat We Offer:Diamond provides a comprehensive compensation and benefits package which includes:Comprehensive health benefits (Medical/Dental/Vision)Retirement Plans with Generous Company matchVacation DaysPersonal DaysFloating HolidaysPaid HolidaysLife InsuranceDisability Insurance & More!Diamond Communications is an equal opportunity employer and considers all qualified applicants for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
